Day 7

Subject: [firstname]: I almost forgot to tell you this…

Hey [firstname]!

I meant to tell you this the other day. While I don't have time to go into branding in any detail in this series, I do need to tell you something that I found out the hard way: You want to keep your “look” uniform across all the online platforms you operate on. That means making sure that your domain name and social media usernames are the same. If your domain name is “yoursite.com” but on Facebook you're “mysite 1234” and on Twitter you're “@mysite7890” (and so on) people will be forgiven for not realizing you're the same person/business. So it's important that when you choose your domain name, you make sure the appropriate social media “handles” are available. I'd even go so far as to register the same usename on as many different social media platforms as possible – even ones you don't ever plan on using – just to stop somebody else registering them and hijacking your success and hard work. At the very least you want to register on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and (if you sell physical products) eBay too.

Wow! We've covered a lot over the past seven days.

Let's just recap:

We talked about some of the different types of online business you can start; what a “niche” is and how to choose a good one; how to draw up a profile of your ideal customer; I gave you some neat market research tools and told you what you'll need to get your website online; finally we talked about how to get traffic to your newly created site.

But you know what?

Within the confines of this e-course I've barely been able to scratch the surface of this fascinating subject. There's lots of stuff I just haven't had time to tell you about – ad networks and growth hacks to name just a couple. I go into much more detail in my beginners' guide to Internet marketing. I've still got a few copies left, but they're going fast. Grab your copy from [link to sales page] right now – before it's too late.

To your success!
